At the 41st International Congress of the Society for Microbial Ecology in Health and Disease (SOMED) that was co-organised with the contribution of FOODBIOMES on 14-16 June 2022 in the city of Alexandroupoli, three special awards were granted to researchers from FOODBIOMES Research Infrastructure.

Two awards by the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health to:

🚀 Nikolaos Kopsahelis’s team from the Ionian University for the study “Implementation of novel Lactobacilli isolates from diversified sources for biosurfactants production” presented by Vasiliki Kachrimanidou.
🚀 Antonios Koutelidakis’s team from the Aegean University for the study “Development, in vitro digestion analysis and organoleptic characterization of dairy products enriched with antioxidant extracts” presented by Panoraia B.

One award by the Microorganisms Journal to the:
🚀 Andreas Tzakos’s team from the University of Ioannina for the study “Development of antimicrobial dressings for wound healing” presented by Eirinaios Vrettos.
